INDUSTRY PLAYER, THINK-TANKS HIGH ALERT ON ASIA ECONOMIC CHALLENGE AND OPPORTUNITIES

BANDARAYA MELAKA, July 8 – Challenging global economic in upcoming years, ‘alert’ over 100 participants from both local and international backgrounds to take part in the Asia Trade Conference 2025, held here ini Melaka on July 5th (Saturday).

Organised by the Center for Economic and Sustainable Development Asia (CESDAsia) and Research and Information System For Developing Countries (RIS), the one-day forum involves industry players, academics and entrepreneurs to engage in discussions surrounding current economic challenges and opportunities across Asia.

Chairman of CESDAsia, Adj. Prof. Datuk Lim Sue Beng, said the conference featured a range of topics including ‘US Trade Tariffs: Asia’s Response–Resilience or Retreat’, ‘Investigating Asia’s Economic Future: Stability, Resilience and Sustainable Growth’, and ‘World Tourism Day Spotlight: Malaysia’s Vision for Regional Unity Through Tourism’.

“More interesting, 22 expert panelists from countries such as India, Singapore, China, and Indonesia, shared insights on various economic issues affecting the region ,” he added.

The event was officiated by the Governor of the state of Melaka, Tun Seri Setia Dr. Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam.

In addition, Datuk Lim Sue Beng said Melaka was selected as the venue as it alligns with the Tahun Melawat Melaka (TMM).

“This platform not only promotes dialogue on economic trends but also facilitates networking through business-matching sessions between participants,” he added.
