Holiday traffic gradually building in Melaka

MELAKA June 13 – Holiday traffic is gradually building in Melaka as holiday goers heading towards the state.

A significant number of local tourists were spotted at Stadhuys building near Banda Hilir here, The Star reported.

According to the online report, some foreigners were also sighted walking around Jonker Walk this evening, despite the iconic night market still remains closed.

“Elsewhere, high traffic volume was seen at Banda Hilir from 7pm to 8.30pm heading towards Dataran Pahlawan,” the report said.

The English-daily also interviewed one family from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan who said they took the opportunity to spend a night in Melaka.

“It’s the right time, as there are many tourist hotspots here that are still not crowded with people,” said K. Jesudas, 42, who brought along his family to a holiday here after staying home for months.

However trishaw riders here said the number of those touring Melaka since Saturday morning was still low compared to pre-Covid 19 season, the report said.
