
COVID-19: Six new cases, 244 active cases reported today
PUTRAJAYA, June 24 — The number of COVID-19 cases today continues to remain a single digit with six new cases while the total number of active cases with COVID-19 infectivity stands at 244 cases.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, the addition of new cases brings the cumulative number of positive cases in Malaysia to 8,596, no death was recorded and the death toll remained at 121 cases.
“Of the six new cases reported, two are imported cases infected overseas, involving a Malaysian citizen and a non-citizen,” he told a daily media conference on COVID-19 development here today.
Dr Noor Hisham said, 45 Covid-19 patients who had recovered were discharged today, bringing the cumulative number of fully recovered cases who have been discharged from the wards to 8,231 cases or 95.8 per cent, of the total number of cases.
Meanwhile, three new clusters were detected, namely the Hulu Langat Condominium Cluster; Bukit Bintang Cluster; and Kuching Construction Site Cluster.
